BABY STEPS & TIGER CRIES

will it be easy? nope.
worth it? absolutely.

h

i am, if possible, even worse at unpacking than packing.
the suitcase with a scent of paris remains on the floor,
with sand gleaming on the bottom and in between the airy garments.
my days are a delirium of dreams finally fulfilled and nightmares
that don’t come true but that takes my breath away deep in the night.
the camera captures paris & a desert. it is my witness. the photographs my map.
i don’t seem to be able to hold on to much at all in my mind.
maybe it's a case of the baby brains. i read in 'the telegraph' that it is studied,
- pregnant woman use the right side of the brain more,
in preparation for bonding with the baby.
i don’t know. what i do know is i cry over the newspaper
because i spill my café au lait out, all over, soaking the paper.

a virus has invaded me,
that’s finally established at a center for chinese medicine.
'alpine rose' [pityriasis rosea] in swedish.
she sounds like a beautifully cool flower, but feels as if my skin is on fire.
i clench my fists not to itch and try not to count the weeks expected to
remain of angrily thorny red roses covering pale winter skin.
i think to myself why am i not just happy? a hundred times over
and try to reason with myself in between.
i stroke myself gently in balmy cream and drink more green tea.
i wipe the tears and listen to a tiger cry until it sinks in.

will it be easy? nope.
worth it? absolutely.

i arrange the small pieces we’ve started collecting for mini
and put the big thoughts to the side.
a small rattle is perhaps the most beautiful of those small pieces,
- actually a soft shell with a loose pearl inside,
which the finest of friends picked for us in the maldives.
a turnaround, - & affirmation that is kinder to myself,
is perhaps the most beautiful of those big thoughts.
the one that says maybe i set the bar way too high for myself.
so high that all i can really do is stand under it and squint upward, gasping.
entirely blinded. instead of starting with baby steps.
instead of just being there, inside of the days and share them like this.
share details that may seem insignificant or mean everything,
depending on who sees and reads.
the sand doesn’t chafe at the thin skin then,
only shimmers in between the lines.

with love,

h

    {och dom där fjällrosorna, dom måste ju tina upp så småningom..}

    ä.D. snuff !

    1. thank you so much, sweetheart,
      - i do think it’s on the decline now though,
with angry red roses wilting slowly, slowly.
      i’m very happy about that..!

yes, it is a bit.. *smiles* so much good stuff
out there now; the softest of things and still
made eco friendly.. i’m quite amazed.
mom and dad used to put our things on
inside out for us not to have to have the
itchy, big labels right on the skin.. *smiles*
      s o f t is the word & theme for the honeypie
      capsule collection.. ;)

thank you for your kindness, my darling !

and sending big, big LOVE right back..

  5. Oh Sweetheart, this is crazy...2 weeks ago I had a similar virus-thing,
it calles "shingles"...(in Germany it calls something with "belt-roses"),
and I can tell you, my Body hurted sooo much...from the hips down the legs.
i just had one open spot - but, oh my gooosh, it was so itchy and hurting.
I really was happy that after 2 weeks my body started to heal.
So I think I can feel a bit what you feel....
and it makes me a bit sad that you are not only happy -
but I think thats normal and yes Honey, it will be worth it!
So let me send you a biiiiig hug and a much biiiiigger smile -
and a lot of love, with a bundle of sunrays!
It will all be worth it ;o)
    x, t.

    1. oh, honey.. we call it ’belt rose’ in sweden / swedish as well,
      - & i’ve heard of it. *yuk* so glad you are recovering!
i think i am recovering slowly too, - from my angry ’roses’..
they are wilting into paler pink, - & my skin is not constantly
as if on fire. i’m really relieved and happy..! *smiles*
thank you for your good wishes for me..

.. i do think there should be more talk about how pregnancy
c a n be other than just glowy and dreamy for some.. not that
i was going into it completely blind, - but i think it’d be quite
helpful for a lot of woman, if one was more prepared in a more..
.. shall we say.. true way, - about what stuff can come your way.
cause a lot of the suffering is, at least for me, about not knowing,
not understanding ’what's wrong' etc.. if one is a bit more prepared,
that helps i think, - mentally..

i am happy t o o though. it really is LIFE, in it’s truest form, in that
way as well (not only having a LIFE growing inside of you), - that it
is both. i’ve shed tears of fear and tears of joy. tears of thankfulness
      and tears of worry. tears of pain and tears of pleasure. so it’s life;
in all its duality. *smiles* .. and just as it’s supposed to be when there is
      LOVE, i think..

thank you, yet again, sweetheart, for your beautiful words,
      - & kind heart..!

      sending you warm hugs from a city by the sea;
completely bathing in sunlight and high, crisp air,
(- & with an amazing temperature of over 20° today!)..

I remember what some of my best friends and my Sister in law went through (all the kids i now have luckily in my life too as an "aunti";) ) And what a big work your body has to do...what a great wonder it must be. And I am totally sure that you are sooo good in doing it, giving life to a new wonder! Such a tender and loving heart like yours is such a gift for a baby. Oh I am sooo looking forward to this new angel, and I am so happy with you and for you. I often think about you. This will be a lucky and happy Baby, it has choosen the perfect mother! So cry if you feel the need but don't fear, because everything will be as it is meant to be. Everything will be good. You deserve the best!
