A SUNDAY STORY | POPPY STUDY n°3

virginia woolf skrev

she was like a crinkled poppy;
with the desire to drink dry dust.

hannah

’poppy study n°3’ can now be found in my personal print shop
along with some new additions, like polaroids from
the garden of yves saint laurent etc |
the sold out biggest sizes are also available for
all of the fine art prints again..

’poppy study n°3’ is part of a series of poppy photographs,
a wish to still and immortalise a wild poppy field.
simply because poppies are just so inspirational..!

i mean.. isn’t that just crazy beautiful..?

i shot this photograph of a poppy field at dusk
because i wanted a reminder of home
and of my family, now far away.

there was always something a bit dark in that ritual.
we were most often sitting by the big kitchen table drinking wine,
at the sight of people that, in preparation for swedish midsummer,
were pulling over at the roadside,
picking big bouquets of those red beauties,
only to shove them into the trunk of their cars
and disappear in diversly dusty flying starts.
mama would always say
they'll be dead at home-coming.
poppies are delicate creatures,
not fit for mobster style transportation.

and now. other types of sunday stories.

with love,

hannah

  1. you know Honey,
your family is in your heart...
so they never are too far away...
even when it feels like that.
